So here we have the place of atonement and the Ten Commandments being commanded to be placed in the most holy place behind a curtain in His tabernacle. When people sinned, they would have to go make atonement for themselves by the help of the priest, and then I assume would be reminded of the law that was set up in there also, upon asking the Lord for forgiveness of their sin. When Jesus died, the curtain to the temple split, meaning there no longer is the same separation between us and the most Holy place, our living God. Now, instead of going to make atonement for ourselves with the priest and being reminded of the law, Jesus is our High Priest, whom we pray to forgive us of our sins, and He reminds us of His law through His Holy Spirit all throughout our days. Now, the Lord is able to always be with us 🤍 The Spirit of God, the most Holy being, is among us, with us, surrounding us, and inside of our hearts if you let Him. If you haven’t yet let that Spirit into your heart, make today the day you pray that He forgives you of all your sin and makes atonement for you, so that you can have His law written on your heart to help you prevail in this life. It’s that easy!
Did you receive a different understanding from the Spirit? Did a different verse stand out to you other than the one I shared? I’d love to hear! Post a comment below about what you understood from this chapter so we can discuss His story more.
“At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split”
