The people of this time are a constant foreshadowing for us of what was to come. They had Moses who helped rescue them from the Egyptians and sprinkle the blood of the covenant on them in order to foreshadow the coming of Jesus and how He also saved us from the enemy with the shedding of His blood to pour over us. However, Jesus’ blood did even more than seal us in the covenant of God. Jesus’ blood is able to completely wash us, and cleanse us, making the past dead and making us brand new in Him with His life. The blood of an animal is its life. With the blood of Jesus, we now live His life. Living through Him, we worship God for being our salvation and honor Him for forever being our Protector and Healer. He loves us with a love that is completely unimaginable to us, and all He asks for in return is our trust and obedience. We will never be able to love Him the way that we should in this life, and He understands that, but through the life of Christ, our example and our helper, we make it our life goal to try. If you haven’t already, make today the day you ask Jesus to enter your heart to help you honor our Father in Heaven so that He may protect you, heal you, and save you from this dying world for eternity!
Worship - adoration or devotion comparable to religious homage, shown toward a person or principle.
Honor - fulfill (an obligation) or keep (an agreement)
Did you receive a different understanding from the Spirit? Did a different verse stand out to you other than the one I shared? I’d love to hear! Post a comment below about what you understood from this chapter so we can discuss His story more.
“For this is my blood of the new
testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
