We are so accustomed to our sin and the ways of this world, that we don’t even realize it when we act against God’s will. This world is so “normal” to us, that we don’t ever consider how far we are from what we were created to be like until God highlights these sins for us in Scripture. Still, even though we are so immersed in sin and far from His plans for us, He is still a god who is quick to forgive us, to bless us, to shine His face upon us, be gracious to us, to look on us with favor, and to give us peace despite our condition. He is a God eager to bless and forgive us according to His grace. There is nothing more awe-inspiring than His nature. Because we are so numb to evil, we can hardly accept something so pure and good. He is merciful, providing peace in the midst of chaos.
