In chapter 18, the men who came to Abraham was Jesus in human form... washing of the feet was very common at that time because all of the roads were dirt and they wore sandals to travel from town to town. Later in the New Testament Jesus washes his disciples feet to demonstrate how we should put ourselves last no matter who we are to serve others around us... it's so amazing how the Bible is so relatable still today thousands of years later! Humans and their relationship with good and evil never change. I love how you caught that nothing is impossible for the lord and also that Abraham was protecting his nephew Lot!! I was thinking wow he's so nice to care about those people in that town what a big heart... never even considering that he was trying to look out for his nephew the whole time 😂 wow i love how much you and Abraham love your family! I never really had much of a family growing up so I didn't catch on to it at all but that is such a beautiful point!
I did see in verse 19 how it applies to moms... "for i have chosen him so that he will command his children and his house after him to keep the way of the lord by doing what is right and just." And i thought thank you for choosing me lord!
In verse 25 the Judge mentioned I'd also Jesus... Abraham showed his humility in verse 27 "I am dust and ashes" because we literally are nothing even though the world tries and tell us we should seek to be so important.
I thought the whole negotiating time with the lord was interesting too because God is also sparing the whole world now from destruction for the righteous people's sake until the end of times.
