Abram leaving his land is an example of 2 things: 1 that we should go and spread the word of god as his example and don't be afraid of where you are going just trust that the lord has a plan and that you will be a blessing doing the lords work (for women: don't be afraid to have children just trust that the lord will always provide and just focus on your job to make disciples for Him. The Lord makes us uncomfortable so that we know it's Him working in our lives and can't blame it on our own will) and 2 that this is not our home so don't get too comfortable here, the lord has prepared for us an eternal home that is His great nation and those entering it are blessed and protected. Love the Lord and His instruction more than your town. When Abram saw the Lord, he built an altar there to worship Him so we know from his example that it is important to praise the lord whenever we see His work in our lives. "He built an altar there, and he called on the name of Yahweh." God loves to hear from us. Pharaoh was cursed when he took Sarai as a wife because God had promised Abram that He would give the land to his offspring so He needed Sarai to be back with Abram..... and it's written in the gospel that it's important to god that a marriage is only between one wife and one husband.
