Exodus 4

On the trip, at an overnight campsite, it happened that the Lord confronted him and sought to put him to death. (Verse 24)

Moses asked to not go on this mission and to stay in his home 3 times in this chapter. He REALLY did not want to go, but in all meekness of heart, he obeyed and went, submitting to the will of the Lord. However, when he left, the Lord confronted him and sought to put him to death. The Lord wrestled with Moses just as He did with Jacob because those “who wrestle with the Lord and with men and prevail will be called Israel.” Similarly today now that we have the Holy Spirit in the world, the Lord shows us which behaviors He would intend to put us to death for as He convicts us on our journey of sanctification. When He sends us on our holy mission on earth, whatever that may be, He stops us along the way, wrestling with us as we go, showing us death, teaching us life, giving us words to say and miracles to stand by. Moses, being a part of Israel (God’s firstborn son, verse 22), shares the same Brother and Father as anyone else who wrestles with the Lord’s Spirit. Jesus came down to give His life so that we all may have that access regardless of our genealogy. The Lord convicts and teaches all of His children in order to prepare us for our mission of His work here on earth. Therefore, anyone who has that wrestling in their heart between man and the Lord and shows meekness to the Lord, submitting to His will and prevailing, will be called Israel, son of God.

“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:11‬

Here are some verses to help guide you in prayer for a meek spirit today,

Thank you for sharing! For some reason it’s not allowing me to pull up the prayer verses.

In chapter 4 of Exodus, God had to continue to convince Moses that he is able of convincing the children of Israel in Egypt to come with him to be rescued from the land. However, Moses is making up a ton of excuses of why he is not capable of this task. Such as:

Exodus 4:10 “And Moses said unto the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.”

I can also relate to Moses in a way that I find myself…
